I went to The Mother’s International School, New Delhi, for my school education, following which I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Miranda House, University of Delhi. Afterwards, I obtained my Master’s in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, where I worked in the field of Quantum Optics. Currently, I am pursuing PhD in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, where I am working under the supervision of Prof Anand Kumar Jha in the Quantum Optics and Entanglement lab. My work is based on analysing the orbital angular momentum (OAM) spectrum of down-converted photons produced from the process of spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC). I am controlling the pump field profile in order to produce the desired shape of the OAM spectrum.

Apart from academics, I am passionate about sports (football, tennis, table tennis). I enjoy Hindustani classical music and I am learning to play the Bansuri. Occasionally, I indulge in photography and painting. While travelling by public transport, I prefer solving Rubik’s cube, sudoku and other puzzles. Wherever I go, I try to keep an eye for birds of that locality.
